Garden Groupies
We are an informal group of men and women who are interested in gardening, whether it be outdoors in one of the community garden plots, in our yard, in the greenhouse, or indoors in our apartment.
Our members grow vegetables, flowers, and enjoy indoor potted plants. Our purpose is to encourage each other in our gardening efforts and to enable each other to have more success at gardening. We accomplish our purpose through sharing seeds, swapping seedlings and plants, asking and answering questions, and physically helping each other with weeding or planting in the outdoor plots.
We have a mentoring program for garden “newbies.”
We use email to send questions and answers, and the Garden Groupies has a list of group members to whom is sent occasionally information about local classes or other pertinent information.
We have 2 or 3 parties a year where we enjoy wine, hors d’oeuvres and socializing. This is a VERY low-key group and there are no formal meetings or required attendance.
To be a member one only needs to notify Gail Robinson of an interest in joining.
