NATURAL HISTORY SOCIETY OF OAK HAMMOCK

The Natural History Society organizes programs and field trips of general interest regarding the natural history of Florida with local history often included. These activities are open to all residents of Oak Hammock. The programs and trips are listed on the monthly calendar and abbreviated "NHS". Tentatively planned programs and trips are listed farther down on this page.

Our visits include State/County/National parks, Water Management District lands, archeological sites, science/natural history museums, private sites such as Marineland, Disney Wilderness Preserve and, small historic towns. Programs include springs, rivers, Floridan Aquifer, prescribed fire, Florida plants and animals and many other subjects.

We often visit local eateries or brown bag picnic on the trips. Ice cream stops are often included on trip return! We strive to provide a relaxed, informative and fun time for everyone.

Please join us and, if you have any questions, ideas for programs or field trips or would like to present one, please contact Pat Lucoff, Pat Harden, Patsy Nelms, Sally Foote or Edna Hindson.
